Sharp TV repair across Chicagoland.

Sharp made the Aquos large-screen LCDs that filled American living rooms in the 2000s and early 2010s — and many of those sets are still running. Newer Sharp-branded TVs in the US are made by Hisense under license. We service the full Sharp lineup, legacy and current, in-home across Chicago and suburbs. Flat-rate diagnostic, written quote before any work begins, and a 90-day warranty on every repair.

Sharp issues we see most often in Chicago

Some failures are common across all TV brands; others are specific to Sharp. Here are the ones our techs handle weekly:

  • Backlight LED strip failure. Common on Aquos LED sets after 4–7 years. The CCFL-to-LED transition on the late Aquos models had known backlight issues; we still service these.
  • Won’t turn on / no power. Usually power board or capacitor failure. We’ve seen most of the common Sharp power-supply variants.
  • T-Con failure / vertical lines. Common on the Aquos LC-series and LE-series. T-Con boards are often the cheapest repair on these sets.
  • Black screen with sound. Sound plays but no picture. Typically T-Con or backlight failure. Repairable.
  • Roku TV interface freezes (Sharp Roku TVs). Newer Sharp-branded Roku TVs share platforms with TCL and Hisense; the troubleshooting is similar. Software reset usually fixes it before hardware diagnosis.
  • Sudden shutdowns. Backlight protection trip or thermal cutoff. Repairable.
  • HDMI port not working on Aquos. Board-level repair on the input panel.
  • Older Aquos backlight inverter (CCFL). Pre-LED Aquos sets used CCFL backlights with inverter boards. Still serviceable when bulbs and inverter parts are available.
