Philips TV repair across Chicagoland.

Philips-branded TVs in the US are distributed by Funai and (more recently) sold under the Roku TV banner at Walmart and Best Buy. We service Philips Roku TVs, the Android Smart TV lineup, and the older Funai-made Philips LCDs in-home across Chicago and suburbs. Flat-rate diagnostic, written quote before any work begins, and a 90-day warranty on every repair.

Philips issues we see most often in Chicago

Some failures are common across all TV brands; others are specific to Philips. Here are the ones our techs handle weekly:

  • Backlight LED strip failure. The most common Philips Roku TV failure mode — one side of the screen darkens, or the whole picture goes dim. Repairable in-home.
  • Won’t turn on / standby loop. Power supply on the Funai-made Philips lineup has known capacitor failure points. Repairable.
  • Roku TV freezing / apps not loading. Software reset / network reflash usually fixes it before we recommend a board swap.
  • Black screen with sound. Audio plays but no picture. Usually T-Con or backlight on Philips sets. Both repairable.
  • HDMI port not recognizing devices. Board-level repair on the input panel.
  • Audio dropouts. Speaker driver, audio amp IC, or HDMI-eARC chain issue. We diagnose end-to-end.
  • Sudden shutdowns or restart loops. Backlight protection trip or main board failure. Both common; both repairable.
  • Legacy Funai LCD board failures. The Magnavox / Philips / Sylvania LCDs from the 2010–2018 era share boards. We’ve seen most of the common failure patterns.

  • Philips Roku TV — 4-series, 5000 series.
  • Philips Android Smart TV — the imported and limited US release Android lineup.
  • Legacy Philips LCD — Funai-built sets from the 2010s.
  • Older Philips plasma and LCD — serviced when parts are available.

About cracked Philips screens

On a cracked Philips panel, replacement isn’t economical — the panel costs more than buying a new TV of the same size. We’ll save you the service call and explain your options on the phone.
